monday reset

Today was Monday reset, or technically yesterday since I got so comfortable I spilled into Tuesday. We went to a new park for a morning walk and ran into a friend there also on leave from work, then celebrated the alignment of forces that led to us all being there at that moment and the absence of the gravity of work that otherwise dominates those forces.

On our way out I passed another stag beetle in the backyard, this one deceased. Last night while identifying I read on their wiki that they're so named because the males' mandibles resemble antlers that they use to fight each other like stags. A little denigrating to name an entire species after the males of another, and embarrassing for the taxonomers should the beetles learn English, but that's a separate battle. I thought I saw a female last night and this guy's corpse and severed limbs today and that that told the story of another battle, but now I'm not sure if I sexed them correctly or that I'm even looking at a different beetle. All the same, I removed my shoes and buried them in the herb garden.

The dogs plopped after the walk, and I used the time to run errands and clean. I stopped for a car wash and while vacuuming found a lottery ticket under the passenger seat that I redeemed at Wegner's for $20 after grocery shopping. I cleaned the house then myself and lit some incense.
